Blim is a streaming video service launched in February 2016, offered by Televisa S.A. It provides access to movies, shows, live TV, among others. It is a popular service currently available in 17 countries. Blim owns Televisa productions, as well as titles from creators and distributors such as Walt Disney Pictures, Paramount Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and BBC.
In September 2019, Blim relaunched as "blim tv" adding 30 live TV channels. In addition, the product was redesigned across all platforms and new features were added. A year later, the product transformed its service by introducing a new free subscription level: Advertising Video on Demand. In this way, the product gained Basic (AVOD) users to the already existing Premium (SVOD) users. I was part of this transformation full of challenges and new learning opportunities.

Product Redesign Across All platform
The work of the design team in this initial phase focused on the redesign of the product across all platforms and websites. A component library was created to scale the design and implementation process.
After defining the new look and feel of the product, this phase focused on updating some functions and adding others. New features were developed such as: Search, EPG, Multiple Profiles, Watch Lists, Content Download and others.

Introducing AVOD Service
For several years Blim TV was a Subscription Video on Demand (SVOD) service. In this phase, a new way of monetizing the service was introduced: AVOD. The introduction of Advertising Video on Demand (AVOD) created two types of subscriptions: Basic and Premium. Numerous changes were implemented involving the users' relation with the service and the company's financial goals.
